What exactly is Big Tattoo Meltdown?
It’s Nottingham’s biggest ink-fuelled weekender – a full-on celebration of tattoos, art, music, and good vibes. Think over 150 amazing tattoo artists, alternative traders, live performances, and a buzzing atmosphere.
When and where is it happening?
What time do doors open and close?
Can I get tattooed at the show?
Absolutely! Loads of top tattoo artists will be there, offering both walk-ups and pre-booked slots. If you’ve got a design in mind, reach out early to the artist directly.
How do I book in with a tattoo artist?
Find the artist on our lineup, hit their Instagram, and drop them a message. Most artists handle bookings themselves, so it’s direct and easy.
What if I don’t want a tattoo—can I still come?
Definitely. There’s loads going on: live music, market stalls, art, food, drink, and just a cracking atmosphere. No tattoo required.
Is it cash-only or can I pay by card?
Most stalls and artists take card, but it’s worth having a bit of cash on you just in case.
Will there be food and drink?
Yep—there’ll be some banging street food vendors and bars to keep you fed and watered all day.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes of course! BUT – This one’s mainly aimed at adults; some parental guidance may be required due to the nature of our vendors and entertainment! That said, we do have child-friendly trade stands including clothing, sensory toys, and a paint-on ‘tattoo’ booth!
Are dogs allowed?
Working assistance dogs are permitted and we’ll do all we can to aide you in getting around the arena. However, as much as we love a good doggo, please leave your furry mates at home – it’ll be busy, noisy and not really ideal for pets.
What kind of tattoo styles will be there?
Pretty much all sorts—from traditional and neo-trad to realism, dotwork, blackwork, Japanese, script, and beyond. Whatever you’re into, someone’s got it covered.
Can I just watch people getting tattooed?
Definitely. Loads of people love watching the process, and artists are cool with it—just don’t be annoying or get in their way.
How much do tattoos cost at the show?
Prices vary depending on the artist and the piece. Some artists have flash starting at under £100, but bigger pieces and custom work will be more. Bring cash or card and have a chat with the artist.
Do I need a ticket to get in?
Can I bring my own design to get tattooed?
Possibly, depending on the artist. Just message them in advance so they can chat with you about your ideas. Walk-ups might not have time for custom stuff.
What’s the vibe like?
Honestly? Chill, creative, a bit wild, and 100% welcoming. Whether you’re sleeved up or just curious, everyone’s cool here.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Yes—the venue is fully accessible, and we’ll have staff on hand if you need any help getting around.
What should I bring with me?
Some cash, comfy shoes, a water bottle, and a good attitude. If you’re getting tattooed, you’ll need valid photo ID, snacks and something to chill in.
